Afua Etruwaa, daughter of Afua Asantewaa, the broadcast journalist who last year attempted a Guinness World Record-breaking singathon, has shared her thoughts on the impact of her mother's fame on her own life.
Speaking during an interview on Joy News 4Kids Paradise, she said ”I want to be myself.”
Her comment came after she was asked if she faces any challenges, to which she pointed to the pressures of being in the spotlight, saying there have been times when she wanted to go out but hesitated because of the fear of being recognised and judged by others.
"I once wanted to go to the mall but was told there would be people there who might take pictures," she said.
She shared her feelings about this experience, expressing how unhappy it made her and her desire to just be herself.
"I feel very sad. I just want to be free. I want to be myself. People should leave me alone," she said.
