President John Mahama has lauded the efforts of the national leadership task force, describing its work as instrumental in translating a campaign promise into a meaningful, real-world impact.
Speaking at the launch of the Mahama Cares initiative on Tuesday, April 29, Mr Mahama singled out the exceptional leadership of Reverend Emeritus Prof Seth Ayettey, who chaired the task force, for special praise.
"I wish to commend the exceptional leadership of the national leadership task force chaired by Reverend Emeritus Prof Seth Ayettey, and to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the professional associations, religious leaders, development partners, and citizens who contributed their expertise and passion to bring this initiative to life," Mr Mahama said.
He further acknowledged the collective commitment and collaboration that helped turn the initiative from a manifesto pledge into what he described as "tangible, life-changing realities."
The initiative, one of the flagship programmes by President John Mahama, aims to provide dedicated financial support to individuals suffering from chronic and debilitating illnesses.
The initiative is designed to ensure fairness in healthcare access, particularly for those facing financial barriers to treatment.
