The Supreme Court was expected to deliver judgment on the injunction application filed by the MP for Akwatia constituency, Ernest Kumi, today, Wednesday, April 30.
But the five-member panel announced to highly expectant parties that it had not concluded the judgement and so was unable to deliver the same.
The court has thus set June 11 to deliver its judgement.
In a brief ruling, presiding judge Justice Pwamang said, "Unfortunately, the court has been occupied and has not concluded its judgment. So, bear with us on a later day to deliver our judgment."
The Member of Parliament is asking the Supreme Court to quash the injunction ruling by the Koforidua High Court that sought to restrain him from being sworn into office as an MP for the Akwatia constituency; an injunction the MP defied.
The MP was subsequently charged with contempt of court when he defied the injunction ruling, resulting in the issuance of an arrest warrant on him.
He is at the Supreme Court asking for both the injunction and the contempt rulings to be quashed.
