Ghanaian dancer Agnes Larbi, affectionately called Lalli, of the Dance Live Grow (DLG) Academy, has shared how the dance challenge for Shatta Wale and Medikal’s song ‘Shoulder’ was created.
As the creative force behind the challenge, Lalli said she mentioned that she originally choreographed the dance just for fun during a training session at the academy.
“It was something I didn’t think it would go viral. DGL academy had some games and we were at the park, and Paradise came to the park. We were just listening to the song and I suggested that we should just create something for it and then boom.”
She least expected how viral it went but the dance began gaining traction on social media, eventually capturing the attention of both Medikal and Shatta Wale, with Medikal compensating her for the effort.
She revealed this in response to a question about whether either of them had reached out to reward her after the dance went viral, though she did not disclose the amount.
“I’ve received something from them. Medikal and Shatta Wale supports me,” she told Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Changes show.
Despite this being her second viral dance challenge after Shatta Wale’s ‘Wash,’ the dancer feels fulfilled by her current progress in the field, especially considering her beginnings.
When asked how she feels whenever she sees people dancing the challenge she created, she said, “I’ll just be like, ‘Larbi Agnes, you’ve done well.’”
She gratefully acknowledged Dancegod Lloyd and the DGL Academy for providing the platform and opportunity to highlight her prowess.
