The Ghana Police Service has dismissed media reports suggesting that one of its officers involved in an infraction during the Ablekuma North by-election is facing dismissal.
In a statement issued on Friday, August 22, and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, the Service stressed that no such decision has been made.
According to the statement, internal disciplinary procedures within the Ghana Police Service are conducted as a quasi-judicial process, and as such, outcomes cannot be predetermined.

“The Service rules make provision for multiple sanctions or penalties in the event of misconduct involving an officer, and a decision as to what sanction should apply, if any, is made on a case-by-case basis and dependent on the disciplinary trial,” the statement clarified.
The Police further assured the public that due process will be followed in addressing the matter to ensure justice, law, and order are upheld.
