A fierce fire broke out at the Adenta Filling Station in Accra on Monday, September 8, destroying several commercial structures before being brought under control by firefighters.
According to a Facebook post by the GNFS, a team from the Madina Fire Station was swiftly dispatched to the scene, where they encountered five metallic containers, all used for commercial purposes, engulfed in flames.

The fire was reported to be rapidly spreading upon their arrival.

Despite the intensity of the blaze, the post notes, firefighters managed to contain and extinguish it, preventing further destruction.

However, four of the metallic containers were completely destroyed, along with a bedroom in an adjoining building.

Thanks to the prompt response of the Ghana National Fire Service, adjoining containers and four nearby domestic buildings were salvaged, avoiding what could have been a much larger disaster.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported among civilians or fire personnel.
