The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced plans to roll out a new system in 2026 that will allow vehicle owners to personally select and reserve their preferred registration numbers online.
The initiative, dubbed DVLA Select, is expected to modernise and streamline the registration process by allowing clients to choose registration numbers before visiting DVLA offices to complete the process.
In a notice issued Monday, the Authority said the platform would enhance convenience and transparency in vehicle registration services.
“This platform will allow clients to choose and reserve their preferred vehicle registration numbers online before completing the full registration process at the DVLA office,” the notice stated.
DVLA added that the general public will be updated in due course on the detailed steps and processes required to access the service.
