Award-winning highlife musician and songwriter Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr, also known as Akwaboah, has revealed who taught him how to handle social media trolls.
Speaking with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Changes show, he disclosed that rapper Sarkodie, whom he previously worked with, taught him the technique.
Explaining how the lesson came about, the “Forget” hitmaker said that he witnessed online trolls targeting Sarkodie after the release of his collaboration with American rapper Ace Hood.
Akwaboah admitted he became upset and questioned why there was so much backlash.
But he said Sarkodie told him that “welcome to the world; this is exactly what you’re going to see once you’re up there, and this is how you must answer to them or respond.”
He said his father guided him in many ways within the industry, but when it came to handling trolls, he had to learn from his former record label boss, as his father was always mad about it.
Although he has learned to ignore trolls, some still get to him because he’s human but he manages to control himself.
