Afrobeat/Hip-Hop artist WAN-O is redefining what it means to grind. Despite facing public mockery for selling CDs — even being called a “beggar” on radio.
WAN-O has turned his hustle into a thriving business, earning over ₵30,000 monthly from CD sales alone.
Instead of hiding from the criticism, WAN-O confronts it head-on in the teaser for his upcoming single “Check Yourself.”
The clip features the mocking audio before cutting to WAN-O surrounded by cash and CDs, symbolizing resilience and reward.
“They laughed at the hustle, but the hustle is what built me,” WAN-O explains. “This record is for anyone who’s ever been underestimated.”
The voicenote sampled for the track stems from a clip from Ghanaiann entertainment pundit, Tilly.
Blending Amapiano grooves with Hip-Hop grit, “Check Yourself” carries the same bold energy — a record that turns struggle into strength.
