The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Ghana Boxing Authority has been charged with delivering transparency and credibility in its operations, including supervising elections for a new executive board.
At the inauguration in Accra, Sports Minister Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams urged the committee to work efficiently and impartially to stabilise Ghana boxing, attract investment, and foster sports tourism.
The IMC will also oversee sanctioning of bouts, regulate the transition from amateur to professional boxing, and improve welfare for athletes through enhanced insurance and training programmes.
The Minister expressed confidence in the committee’s capacity, stressing that their work would determine Ghana’s competitiveness on the global boxing stage.
