The 2002 year group of the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU) has donated to their alma mater, Bishop Herman College, Kpando in the Volta region, aimed at improving the school’s kitchen and dining facilities.
The group presented 140 pantry bowls with lids and two food trolleys to the school to enhance the efficiency of meal service and ease congestion in the dining hall.
The initiative was undertaken in partnership with the 2002 Past Ola Girls Association (POGA 2002), their female counterpart.
The donation is expected to significantly reduce long queues during meal times, enabling students to spend more time on academic activities.

President of BHOBU 2002, Mac-Bansah Aikins, expressed hope that the gesture would support the current generation of students by making their daily school life more convenient and enjoyable.
This latest contribution adds to a series of interventions by BHOBU 2002. In 2023, the group donated dustbins valued at over GHC 15,000, alongside teaching and learning materials, a water dispenser, and the installation of a durable metal door and ramp to facilitate the smooth movement of food trolleys within the dining area.
Project Leader of BHOBU 2002, Harry Ameti, urged students to handle the donated items with care to ensure their longevity, stressing that the benefits would be maximised only through responsible use.

The Assistant Headmaster of Bishop Herman College, Timothy Agboka, conveyed the school’s deep appreciation to BHOBU 2002 for their continued support and appealed to other year groups and stakeholders to follow their example in contributing to the college’s development.
The donation ceremony was followed by an engaging symposium organised jointly by BHOBU 2002 and POGA 2002 for the students, underscoring their shared commitment to shaping future generations.
The college’s management assured the donors that the items would be well-maintained and described the gesture as a lasting legacy of love, service, and commitment from BHOBU 2002 to their alma mater.
