New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flag-bearer aspirant, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has claimed that some of his competitors are exploiting the tragic assassination of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale to undermine his candidature.
During a campaign engagement with delegates in Gushegu in the Northern Region on Monday, October 28, Mr Agyapong insisted that the ongoing investigations by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and subsequent legal processes have already cleared him of any involvement.
"Tell the people what you can do for them and stop propaganda. Some (aspirants) are saying if you vote for Kennedy Agyapong to win, NDC is going to arrest him because he killed Ahmed Suale, all these years, Anas reported me to America, they did their investigation and I am still here, so what information?," he stressed.
Watch his comment in the video below;
Suale, an undercover journalist affiliated with Tiger Eye PI, was ambushed and shot dead by gunmen in his vehicle in Madina on 16th January 2019.
Prior to his death, Suale had reportedly identified a suspect who allegedly supplied images of him to Mr. Agyapong; that suspect, Daniel Koranteng (also known as Nana Amakye), was arrested in March 2025 and has denied allegations of providing those images.

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Tuesday, 21st October, hosted a breakfast meeting with the five presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at his private residence in Nima, Accra, where he urged them to promote unity and refrain from engaging in personal attacks during their campaigns.
Mr. Agyapong reiterated that he has nothing to fear and urged delegates to ignore attacks based on the Suale case, emphasising that his focus remains on what he can offer the country when he becomes president and move Ghana forward with strong and business-minded leadership.
He reaffirmed his appeal to vote for him in the upcoming NPP primary.
