The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has extended warm congratulations to Mr. Samson Deen following his emphatic re-election as President of the African Paralympic Committee (APC).
Deen secured a commanding 38 out of 40 votes during the 2025 African Paralympic General Assembly in Accra, a result that extends his tenure until 2029.
He first assumed the continental role in 2021 and has since led initiatives aimed at enhancing inclusivity, participation, and visibility for Paralympic athletes across Africa.
The GOC described the re-election as a significant moment for Ghana and for African para sports governance.
“It serves as a resounding affirmation of his visionary leadership, transformative agenda, and the significant progress achieved during his first term, including the successful hosting of the inaugural African Para Games in Ghana,” the statement read.
The Committee further acknowledged Deen’s impact on the continent’s para sports landscape, noting that his continued stewardship will strengthen Ghana’s influence in global sporting circles.
“Mr. Deen’s continued leadership at the helm of the APC is a source of immense national pride, strengthening Ghana’s influential voice in continental and global sports administration,” the GOC added.
