Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has criticised Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng and his senior officials, calling on them to resign immediately.
According to him, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) is a public institution and not the personal domain of its leadership.
His call comes in the wake of a protest in Accra on Tuesday, November 25, over Mr Agyebeng's failure to repatriate former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to face corruption charges brought by the OSP.

Speaking on Joy News’ The Pulse on Wednesday, November 26, Mr Kpebu argued that "Sammy Darko (OSP's Director of Strategy, Research and Communications), Kissi Agyebeng and Mr Akurugu (Director of Asset Recovery and Management), you are going, we have caught you hands down, there is no way you can keep this office, it is not your personal property."
"You have lost credibility, your integrity is scattered, you are gone," he stressed.
Removal process
The Act establishes the Office of the Special Prosecutor to investigate and prosecute corruption cases, and recover proceeds of corruption.
The removal of a Special Prosecutor in Ghana will follow a process initiated by a petition to the President, who must refer it to the Chief Justice within seven days.
The Chief Justice then determines if there is a prima facie case within 30 days, and if so, sets up a committee to investigate and make a recommendation to the President within 90 days.
The President is then required to act according to the committee's recommendation.
