Entertainment curator and blogger Eugene Osarfo Nkansah, known widely as Nkonkonsa, has said the controversy involving mental health advocate Abena Korkor did not break him but instead increased his online following significantly.
According to him, the scandal brought him one million followers across his social media platforms and did not cause the emotional or marital damage many assumed.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with Kwame Dadzie on Hitz FM, he suggested that the episode was a blessing in disguise.
“I got one million followers out of Abena Korkor’s issue. I don’t think it affected me in any way. Not emotionally, not physically, not psychologically,” he said.
When asked whether the situation affected his marriage, Eugene said it did not. He explained that the bond he and his wife had built was strong enough to withstand the public storm.
Eugene has added that he was mentally prepared for scandal in his line of work.
“How can you do this job for 20 years and not get a scandal? I wanted to experience what it looks like but I didn’t know how it was going to happen. I knew it would happen. I knew something would hit me hard so psychologically, mentally, my marriage, everything, I was building the walls before it happened. And I was the only person who knew,” he said.
The public uproar began when mental health advocate and social media personality Abena Korkor released a video claiming she had been intimate with Eugene while he was married. The allegation sparked widespread discussion about fidelity, celebrity culture and the private lives of public figures.
Eugene currently manages Nkonkonsa.com, a platform noted for entertainment news, red carpet documentation and celebrity updates. Over the years, he has covered major award shows, film premieres and music events, carving a niche as a go-to personality for industry happenings. His work in entertainment circles spans over two decades. He is currently the President of the New Media Association of Ghana.
