Asante Kotoko Communication Director, Sarfo Duku has confirmed that the club is yet receive the transfer fee for Albert Amoah’s move to Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi.
It’s been a month since Amoah left Kotoko for a reported fee of over $200,000 and pocketed $200,000 signing-on fee.
He earns a monthly salary of $20,000 in the first season, which will increase to $25,000 per month in his second year.
Despite the transfer agreed amount not yet reaching Kotoko's accounts, Sarfo Duku told Luv FM there is constant communication between the Kotoko's IMC Chairman, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua and Al Ahly Benghazi officials.
“I wouldn't want to go deeply, but all that I can say is that Kotoko has a transfer agreement with Ali Benghazi in respect of a former striker, Albert Amoah.
“Even though the transfer agreed amount is yet to hit the accounts of Kotoko, I can confirm to you that the IMC chairman is in constant touch with officials of Ali Benghazi, obviously the amount will be in,” he said.
"I can't go into the merits of the agreement because of some contractual issues. Trust me, as both clubs are governed by the rules of the game, I do not think that anything can happen.”
