Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, has issued a firm warning to heads of agencies and senior managers within the energy sector, stating that underperformance will lead to removal from office.
Speaking at the Ministry’s performance review retreat, the Minister said President John Dramani Mahama has made it clear that leadership positions in the public sector must deliver results.
“Underperformance will not be tolerated. Heads of agencies and senior management who fail to meet agreed targets or deliver key projects will be removed,” he said.
Dr Jinapor described public office as a privilege that demands discipline, professionalism, and accountability, urging agency leaders to take the retreat seriously.
“This is not a threat; it is a call to seriousness, discipline, and results-oriented leadership,” he emphasised.
He encouraged agencies to move beyond planning and focus on execution in 2026, calling for realistic, measurable strategies aligned with national priorities.
“We must move from plans to execution, from excuses to solutions, and from fragmented efforts to unified action,” Dr Jinapor stated.
