A fire outbreak at sections of the Atonsu Bokro Market in the Ashanti Region has been brought under control following the swift intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service.
Firefighters, with support from residents in the area, worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the busy market.
The Fire Service reported that efforts to tackle the fire were initially hampered by a faulty fire branch on the only available fire tender, which led to water leakage and slowed down containment operations.

Despite the challenge, personnel were able to manage the situation and successfully stop the fire from spreading to additional sections of the market.
Residents also supported the fire officers by assisting to control the flames, contributing to the eventual containment of the outbreak.

The cause of the fire is yet to be officially determined, as investigations are expected to be carried out to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
