John Darko, Legal Counsel to the Minority Caucus in Parliament, has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to accept defeat in the legal battle over the Kpandai parliamentary seat following the Supreme Court’s ruling delivered on Wednesday.
He urged the party to acknowledge the outcome of the case and redirect its focus towards rebuilding and preparing for the future, rather than prolonging the dispute.
"They (NDC) admit that they have lost this one, and let's all work together to build our country," he said on The Pulse after the verdict.
Mr Darko’s comments come in response to remarks by the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Nelson Rockson Dafeamekpor, who indicated that the party intends to seek a review of the Supreme Court’s decision on 6 February.
Mr Darko opposed the idea and said NDC's intention to seek a review of the Supreme Court’s ruling is unnecessary and impractical.
The apex court’s decision followed an application filed by Mr Nyindam, who sought to invoke the Supreme Court’s supervisory jurisdiction to set aside the High Court’s ruling on the grounds of jurisdictional error, after his election was annulled by the Tamale High Court in November 2025.
The latest verdict now reinstates him as the legitimate Member of Parliament for the area.
