Malik Basintale, Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has paid an official visit to Northshore Apparel Ghana in Savelugu, underscoring the agency’s commitment to promoting youth employment in the Northern Region.
Accompanied by the Deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Abubakari Saana Abdul Kudus, and directors of the agency, Mr. Basintale toured the factory to gain first-hand insight into its operations, training programmes, and the quality of work being delivered to prepare young people for careers in the garment and apparel industry.
During engagements with the company’s management, the YEA CEO pledged to recruit 1,000 young people for Northshore Apparel Ghana, who will undergo training before being absorbed into the workforce.

This initiative forms part of the agency’s broader efforts to expand decent and sustainable employment opportunities for youth across the country.
“This commitment reflects YEA’s strong belief in practical partnerships that deliver real jobs,” the CEO said. He added that collaboration with credible private sector partners ensures that youth employment moves beyond policy intentions to measurable impact.

The visit highlights YEA’s continued focus on bridging the gap between training and employment, particularly in sectors such as textiles and apparel, where skilled labour can create lasting economic opportunities for young people in Ghana.
