The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has handed over 10 Nissan Navara pickup vehicles to the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) to bolster its operational capacity in the fight against organised crime.
Presenting the vehicles, the Minister said the government has intensified its support for NACOC as part of a broader strategy to strengthen national security, safeguard public health, and dismantle organised criminal networks.

He stressed that the move reflects the government’s resolve to build security institutions that are capable, responsive, and accountable.
Mr Muntaka explained that the additional vehicles will enhance surveillance, improve rapid response, and support increased arrest operations across the country.

He cautioned NACOC’s management and staff to use the vehicles prudently and ensure proper maintenance so they deliver their full intended impact.
Receiving the vehicles, NACOC Director-General, Brigadier General Maxwell Obuba Mantey, expressed deep appreciation to the government for its continued logistical support.

He said the donation demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving mobility and strengthening nationwide surveillance against narcotics-related crimes.
Brigadier General Mantey assured that the vehicles would be deployed responsibly and maintained effectively, adding that the support would significantly improve NACOC’s operational efficiency in tackling drug trafficking and related criminal activities.
