The five additional members of the Black Stars technical team are entitled to allowances, not salaries, says the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams.
French tactician Alain Ravera, Black Queens coach Kim Lars Björkegren, video analyst José Daniel Martínez, team physiotherapist Carlos Lozano Romero, and performance coach Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi have been hired to strengthen the senior national team ahead of the World Cup.
They are expected to work alongside head coach Otto Addo starting from the March international break and continuing through the tournament.
In an interview with CitiSports, Adams explained that the new members will receive allowances and benefits but will not be on monthly salaries.
“None of them is on a salary, but they will benefit from some of the allowances that are paid to the team, and these additions are just for the World Cup,” he said.
“Of course, they will also benefit from the winning bonuses that any member of the team is entitled to when they win, and, of course, the per diems paid to team members. They will also be entitled to other services that are rendered to every member of the team, but they are not on salaries.”
Meanwhile, Ghana will face Austria on March 27 at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium, before taking on Germany in their second friendly on March 30 in Stuttgart.
The Black Stars will then travel to North America for a friendly against Mexico on May 22 at a venue yet to be announced.
For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England and Croatia in Group L.
