Ghana Head Coach, Otto Addo, has urged his players to remain fully focused on their upcoming friendly against the Austria, insisting that no opponent can be taken lightly in modern football.
Addo made the remarks ahead of the international friendly, stressing that the unpredictability of today’s game means every team must be respected.
“In modern-day football, to be honest, everyone can beat everyone,” Addo said. “I’m very sure. We saw it at the last FIFA World Cup that there is no team that should be underrated.”
Addo acknowledged the stature of traditional powerhouses such as the Germany, who Ghana play on Monday, but stressed that his immediate attention is solely on the test against Austria.
“Surely Germany is a high-profile team, but to be honest, I’m not thinking about Germany now,” he explained. “For us, the full focus is on Austria.”
The Black Stars coach also reiterated his side’s competitive mindset heading into the encounter.
“We want to win every match we play, this is for sure. And now the full focus is on Austria,” Addo added.
The friendly will serve as an important test for Ghana as they continue preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
