Irene Kweki Tetteh could not hold back her tears when Adom News’ Afia Pokua and her team surprised her with two sewing machines.

She was so surprised when the team told her they had come to present the sewing machine she asked for.

She was more surprised after she learned the team had brought two sewing machines, one electric and one hand sewing machine. She was overwhelmed and did not know what to say.

“You’ve made me happy by bringing me these machines. God bless you so much.

“I’ve never been shown this kind of love in my life. I will never forget this”, she said with tears in her eyes.

The 21-year-old is physically challenged but very hardworking and determined. Adom FM discovered her few weeks back. She said the discrimination from her family and some of her school mates forced her to move from her village Ayetepa, to New Ningo both in the Greater Accra Region to find help and learn a trade to fend for herself.

Kweki did not know anyone at Ningo but she woke up one day and told her mother she wanted to move out of their town.

She joined the Methodist Church after she arrived at Ningo. The church saw her potential and decided to help her.

She sews and makes designs on shoes and slippers. With the help of the Ningo branch of the Methodist Church, Kweki was admitted to learn dressmaking.

She told Adom FM all she needed was a sewing machine.

Adom News Editor Afia Pokua made her dreams come true by donating the two sewing machines to her at Ningo.

She was so happy and could not thank God and Multimedia Group enough.
