Shocking revelation in a fast-moving national drama is portraying Y FM presenter, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, as a needy jilted lover who staged her abduction and rape to attract attention from her boyfriend.
Joy News Western regional correspondent Kweku Owusu Peprah reports that Ada, as she is popularly known, had been jilted days ago.
Unable to accept the break-up, she pondered ways to restore the relationship, he explained.
Her alleged abduction and rape some days ago was her idea to get back her boyfriend.
A close friend to Ada who found her half-naked and dirty Tuesday dawn said Ada had a basket containing a used tin of milo and sachet water mixed up with some rubbish.
She maintained it was a birthday gift for her boyfriend.
Her boyfriend, Rahman had later expressed doubts that Ada's alleged ordeal could not be true.
Police in Accra where she has been transferred to are now working with a theory that Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka's ordeal was staged.
It has also emerged that the Western region-based presenter may have been acting a movie when pictures of her alleged rape surfaced on facebook, setting off a frenzied sharing on other social media applications.
Police are working with a statement by a hotel manager that his facility was used to stage the story of rape and abduction.
Even her name is now under closer scrutiny as JoyNews has learnt the presenter with a Nigerian accent and name hails from Akim Oda in the Eastern region and is called Nana Akosua Appiah.
