The father of the YFM presenter who staged a dramatic abduction and rape story has confirmed she is Ghanaian and not a Nigerian as was originally believed.
Speaking on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo,’ Samuel Oduro Antwi said the presenter popularly known as Miss Ada was born in Ghana, lived here all her life.
He said the Nigerian name the presenter is known for came about after she worked with a Nigerian man called Mr Ayoka.
The man she worked with liked her so much that he adopted her and gave her the name, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka.
Mr. Antwi said he named his daughter Naana Appiah Antwi not the name she is known by.
Some media platforms have reported that the presenter was married to a Nigerian which is why she has a Nigerian name but her father denies this.
He says she has never been married to anyone.
The issue of the presenter came to light after nude pictures of her were circulated on social media earlier this week.
Assuming that she had been abducted and raped as the pictures indicated, her employers reported her disappearance to the police for a search to be conducted.
However, details emerging from investigations into the incident are indicating that the entire abduction and rape story was staged by the presenter and her male friends.
Joy News has discovered that along with five men, she patronised an unnamed hotel in Abbosey Okai, a suburb of Accra.
According to the hotel manager who has submitted a written statement to the police, Ada took a room in the hotel under the guise of shooting a movie.
She paid to use the facility for an unspecified number of days.
Investigations also reveal that this is the fifth time she has been abducted and that she staged this current one to attract the attention of her ex-boyfriend.
Some people have suggested that the presenter possibly has some mental problems which triggered her behaviour.
But Samuel Oduro Antwi said this is untrue. Miss Ada has never been abducted by anyone.
He said his daughter is mentally sound.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Alhassan has ordered that the case be transferred from Takoradi to Accra for further investigations.
The police are also expected to question her later today.
She has been moved to Accra and is currently at the Police Hospital with her mother.
