Ghana’s leading English radio station, Joy FM was Saturday night adjudged the Media House with the Best Social Media presence in Ghana at the 2015 Ghana Blogging and Social Media Awards.
The station beat Viasat1 Ghana, Citi FM, Y FM, X FM to win the award at the awards night at the Coconut Groove Regency Hotel in Accra.
The annual awards recognises businesses and individuals that have distinguished themselves in the blogging and social media space in Ghana.
With over 180,000 followers on Twitter and over 2.2 million Facebook posts reach weekly, Joy FM is undisputedly the media outfit with the most extensive social media reach in Ghana.
The station, celebrating 20 years of its establishment in 2015, works tirelessly to be the leader in delivering unparalleled news and information to Ghanaians and the world at large.
The award at the Ghana Blogging and Social Media Awards cements the station's position as the ultimate source for news and information for Ghanaians.
On the night, several other organisations and individuals were also honoured at the event.
President John Mahama beat Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, Hanna Tetteh and James Agyenim Boateng to win Public Official with Best Social Media presence.
Vodafone Ghana was adjudged Organisation with Best Social Media presence. The company beat Infoboxx Daily, Surfline Ghana, Ashesi University, Lamudi Ghana and Tigo Ghana to win the award.
