Most Rasta men on air are reggae presenters but one of such Rasta men who is an ‘all weather man’ is Turbo B of Otec fm in Kumasi and currently participating in the top ten presenters guide competition on TV3.
Abdullai Rahim Abu as he is known in real life is based at Adum in Kumasi and an old student of Kumasi High where he attained his O and A level certificate.
Turbo B After his A level traveled abroad to seek greener pastures but came back to his motherland in 1993 as a Disc Jockey. He first worked with Podium Night club in Kumasi and later moved to Ztar night club also in Kumasi.
He quitted club disc jockeying for four (4) years and then enrolled in a journalism school in 2004. He bounced back again in the club disc jockeying field and worked with the Kiravi night club.
Turbo B is the host of “Work and Happiness” the midmorning program on OTEC 102.9 fm and sometimes presents the drive. Though he works at OTEC fm he also works at the Kiravi night club where he trained some great men like Andy Dusty, DJ Pepsi and Kevin Lloyd now in Takoradi.
Aside all this Turbo B is also an actor and starred in the movie “Odo Ntira” along side Agya Koo and Nana Ama McBrown. He is also a musician and working on his second album which features Okyeame Kwame, Screw face, Castro, Reggie Zippy and Ramsey of ‘Stars Of The Future Fame’. The multitalented Turbo B has Akatakyie as his favorite artiste and enjoys playing football during his leisure hours.
Currently in the top ten presenters guide competitions he is among the seven competitors left so far and he is binding his midmorning presentation and club disc jockeying together and staging it live on TV3 every Thursday from 10pm to 11pm.
He is also appealing to his numerous fans nationwide to keep on texting for him for the best of him is yet to be seen and they should keep watching and if possible joined the studio audience at studio B because presenters guide is the best place to be.
