Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan increased his goal tally to three and remains in contention for a first time lead scorer in the Nations Cup.
His goal dashed any hope of a Nigeria revival, leaving the West African rival with no option but to play for a third place spot against Algeria.
The Rennes striker however must score at least two goals in the final against Egypt to fulfill his ambition.
Egypt’s Mohammed Gedo Nagy however leads the goal pack with four goals without starting a match. His fourth was the last of a 4-0 thumping of rivals Algeria in the semi-final.
Other leading goal scorers are as follows;
3 - Flavio Amado (ANG), Ahmed Hassan (EGY), Seydou Keita (MLI)
2 - Mateus 'Manucho' Alberto (ANG), Samuel Eto'o (CMR), Frederic Kanoute (MLI), Emad Meteeb (EGY), Jacob Mulenga (ZAM), Russell Mwafulirwa (MAW), Osaze Odemwingie (NGR)
