Scores of national democratic congress supporters from the Northern and Upper West regions on Saturday afternoon flooded the Upper West Regional Hospital mortuary to catch a glimpse of the body of the district chief executive for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Abdul Shakur Alhassan, who died early on in the morning with two others, Dramani Masuur and Abu Dramani through a car accident.
Joynews sources said the DCE was returning from a funeral at his home village of Ngmandar.
Speaking to Joy News, the DCE for Bole, Abudu Samson Abu, who was one of the few people who met the DCE shortly before his death, described the shocking news as unfortunate and a great loss for the district.
Wa West DCE, Seidu Tungbani could hardly believe the misfortune.
Joy News sources said the body would be conveyed from the regional hospital mortuary Sunday morning to his home village at Ngmandar in the Sawla District for Islamic burial.
