Police are hunting for Ayittey Canada a claimant to the Ga mantse stool. The claimant is alleged to have masterminded two separate invasions at the Ga-mantse palace, with the latest attack being Monday morning.Joy FM's Yaw Ansu Gyeabour went to the palace and reports that the place was ransacked with the assailants destroying TV sets, furniture and other personal effects.Three of the assailants were arrested and are said to have named Ayittey Canada as the brain behind the attack.Accra Regional Police PRO Chief Inspector Kweku Dompreh told Joy News the police have began thorough investigations into the matter.According to him preliminary investigations indicate that the assailants were asked by Ayittey Canada to vandalise the palace but further investigations will be conducted to get to the bottom of the issue.Canada earlier this year attempted to install himself as the Ga mantse but failed following protestation by the king makers.According to the spokesperson of the Ga mantse Nii Boye Abbey, the claimant lost a court case he filed in 2007, challenging the legitimacy of Nii Tackie Tawia III and has since being using subterfuge means to get to the stool. He referred to the two separate invasions at the palace as an assassination attempt on the Ga manste and expressed surprise over what he says is the deafening silence from government and authorities of AMA.He swore that the Ga mantse will protect himself and the palace if government fails to protect him.Story by Nathan Gadugah/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
