One of the defense lawyers in the protracted Ya-Na murder trial is warning against the impression that the state must win all its cases. The case stalled after the Attorney General accused the trial judge, Anthony Oppong of bias following an alleged comment he made on the case at a drinking bar. The judge has since recused himself from the case and has challenged his accusers to produce evidence to back their allegations of bias against him. Lawyer Atta Akyea, commenting on the appointment of Court of Appeal Judge, E.K. Ayebi, to hear the case, said he has confidence in the judge. Deputy Attorney General Ebow Barton Oduro is pleased with the appointment and tells Joy news the state will now wait to be served notice on the hearing date. Source: Joy News/Ghana
