Two employees of Macoquary Limited, a quarry company at Ahodjo near Nsawam in the Eastern Region, have appealed to authorities of the company to compensate them for sustaining severe wounds following a dynamite blast.The two, Gideon Agamah and Kwabena Takyi are responding to treatment at the Nsawam Government Hospital currently.The blast killed Mr Giogio Sorrentino, Assistant Manager of the company, whose body was torn into piece and was collected into a sack to the Nsawam Government Hospital mortuary.Briefing the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Ahodjo, Mr Agamah said, on July 28 this year, the two, together with the Assistant Manager, went into one of the quarries and inserted dynamite into the rocks at about 1600 hours.He said when they went to inspect the quarry on the next day; the dynamite blasted and killed the Assistant Manager while they sustained multiply wounds all over their bodies.Superintendent Samuel Anderson Buabeng, Police Commander in-charge of Nsawam confirmed the incident, saying, the Police are investigating the matter.Source: GNA
