Management and staff of Gyandoh Asmah & Co have donated cash and various items to the Osu Children’s Home.
The donation is part of the firm’s corporate and social responsibility to society particularly at a time the plight of the children at the home has come to public light.
Making the donation, Senior Partner of the company, Professor Emeritus Samuel Gyandoh stated that, the company was committed to community service and will continue to fulfill its social responsibilities to the home and society at large.
Professor Gyandoh also noted that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was important to the development of society, describing it as "a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis.”
He noted that given the high costs involved in the discharge of such commitments, it is tempting to think of CSR as something of an optional luxury in challenging economic times. Professor Emeritus Gyandoh, who is also the co-author of the “Sourcebook for Constitutional Law in Ghana (Gyandoh & Griffiths)”, said that the firm would continue to support needy institutions and indicated that in the near future the firm will establish a foundation to support needy organisations and give scholarships to brilliant but financially challenged students who wanted to pursue legal studies.
