Despite the commissioning of the new Falcon 900 presidential jet, President Mills and his government officials will continue to travel with commercial planes for about two more months. This is because the aircraft is undergoing some more tests whiles pilots and engineers of the Ghana Air force acquaint themselves with the state-of-the-art equipment. The Head of Military Public Relations, Col. Mbawine Atintande said the plane will have to be acclimatized to the country’s peculiar weather conditions. “The training is multidimensional, it is spread across many areas that the Air force themselves know very well about.” Col. Atintande said “Ghanaians will just have to be confident that these are competent people who are there to ensure that” the aircraft is well prepared for flying. Manufacturers of the Falcon aircraft have a team in the country which is taking air force officials through rigorous training on how to handle the jet. Joy News has learnt that they will be in the country for six weeks. Pilots, engineers and auxiliary staff are undergoing the training. Some air force staff have already undergone training in France.
