Medeama’s first group game in the CAF Confederations Cup ended in a 3-1 defeat at the hands TP Mazembe.
The Yellow and Mauves began on a bright note just as they did against Sundowns in South Africa by opening the scoring through Malik Akowuah.
Their joy was short-lived when Ransford Kalaba restored parity in the 21st minute for Mazembe before Salif Coulibally headed home on the stroke of half time.
Kalaba put the icing on the cake in the second half with a placed finish.
The Yellow and Mauves could have lost by a bigger goal margin had it not been the brilliance of keeper Muntari Tagoe.
Medeama's next game will be against MO Bejaia at the Sekondi Sports Stadium on 29 June.
