Mrs Aba Edusah, DCE of Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District in the Central Region says she is unperturbed by threats by chiefs and youths’ threatening to get her removed from office. Youths in the district embarked on a protest march Friday to back demands for her removal, accusing her of incompetence, autocracy, disrespect and citing a development project in her hometown instead of the district capital. Reacting to allegations of incompetence and autocracy leveled by Nana Osam Kwesi, Chief Abura-Dunkwa, Madam Aba Edusah questioned the chief’s definition of incompetence. “If the chief is talking about incompetence, I just don’t know what he means by incompetence. Is it incompetence that I have been able to talk to him or at meetings I have not been able to express myself? Is it incompetence when you decide that people are misusing the funds of the assembly and that you will like to look at it properly?” She querried. Touting her achievements, Mrs Aba Edusah further questioned “does the chief talk of it as incompetence when Aba Edusah has been able to raise funds to buy a bus for monitoring at the assembly?” She also added that she has been able to provide accommodation for staff of the district assembly who used to commute from Cape Coast to work daily. She also said she has been able to purchase a 10-acre plot to put up buildings for the assembly and has instituted a private partnership to build a modern market in the district. Aba Edusah also boasted that she has also raised GH¢5.2 billion for other developmental projects in the district. She blamed the clamouring for her removal on the establishment of the modern market at Asebu instead of Abura. Reacting to demontrators' demands that she steps down, the DCE asked; “Resign for doing what? Quitters never win...and for what reason do they want to remove me?
