Chiefs in the Western Region are unhappy with what they say is the lackadaisical attitude by Members of Parliaments towards developmental issues in the region.According to the chiefs the MPs have failed to heed the call to attend important meetings in the region. The recent meeting called by the Western Regional House of chiefs to discuss the issue on Oil Revenue Management Bill had only seven MPs in attendance. The Western Region has a total of 22 MPs.Some of the chiefs told Joy FM’s Western Regional correspondent Kweku Owusu Peprah that the MPs were demanding transport allowance before they would attend. They say the House of Chiefs has no money to pay the MPs.The seven MPs who attended the meeting explained to the chiefs that their colleagues might have been held up in other equally important assignments. They could not however confirm or deny the transport allegations attributed to the MPs by the chiefs.Source: Myjokyonline.com/Ghana
