Police detectives have been urged to adopt modern investigative practices to enhance their work.Acting Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department, Prosper Agblor warns the era of armed chair investigations in the police service is over.Speaking at a meeting with detectives in Kumasi as part of a regional tour, he tasked personnel of the CID to employ professionalism in the dealings with the public.His advise comes at a time when spate of armed robbery appears to be on the increase, a situation the police have dismissed.DCOP Agblor was unhappy personnel in the CID have poorly managed crime scenes leading to situations where several evidences have been lost.This he said has affected prosecution and management of cases some of which are pending in courts.While admitting the logistical constraints detectives face in their operations, DCOP Agblor revealed ongoing training programmes are targeted at equipping personnel with techniques in modern-day policing.Regional Crime Officer, Ernest Owusu appealed to the Acting Director General of the CID to help equip the CID with vehicles, office equipments and an exhibit store room.Story By: Ohemeng Tawiah, Nhyira Fm-Ghana
