Under-fire Asante Kotoko interim manager Michael Osei has received backing from his skipper Amos Frimpong to bring success to the club.
Osei, a former Kotoko player, who is being considered for the job on permanent basis, is under mounting pressure from fans after twice leading his charges to fluff the opportunity to go top of the league following two straight draws with Inter Allies and Bechem united.
The draw against Bechem United, however, did not go down well with the fans who are calling for the head of the coach. Some fans believe the Osei is technically inept to handle the 23 times Ghanaian champions.
But club captain Amos Frimpong is urging for fans' patience for the former New Edubiase assistant coach.
“Kotoko have in their last two matches drawn and the successive draws have sent most of the club’s passionate supporters angry as they demand the best from the team," he told the club's official website
“He will ultimately bring success just as he did in the first round of the league when he brought the team from 16th to 2nd position.
“We have to be patient. But, of course, we have to win, we have to get results and we have to score” said the skipper."
Frimpong has scored two of Kotoko's three goals in the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
