Madam Hajia Sadika Bonsu Yeboah, President of the Ladies Association of the Ahmadiyya Muslims Mission, on Sunday, said the biggest problem facing the mission was finding spouses among the members. She said the world has now seen a new era, where marriage is no longer considered necessary or even significant, adding that, Allah has laid down rules and regulations for marriage and considers marriage an important and essential part of a Muslims life. Madam Yeboah was speaking at a marriage seminar dubbed "Marriage in Islam-The impacts and challenges" organised by the Greater Accra Ladies Association of Ahmadiyya Muslims Mission. The seminar, aimed at enlightening the Jamaat, especially the youth and unmarried, on the need to marry from the mission and the benefits to be derived. She said spouses are like garments to each other, because they provide one another with the protection, the comfort, the cover, the support, and the adornment that garments provide to humans. "Our spouses provide us with the same level of comfort, protection, cover, and support in the journey of our lives on this earth" she said. She urged all couples to duplicate the marriage life of Prophet Mohammed and also read Islamic periodicals on marriages to serve as guidelines for a blessed home. Dr Mohammed Alfa, Member of the National Executive Council, said the youth were the best investment for the future of Islam, therefore parents needed to take this trust seriously and take responsibility through action. "We need to take appropriate action in teaching the traditions of Islam to our children before the outside society corrupts them" he said. He said parents must strive to raise their children, simply based on the teaching of the Holy Quran, adding that, this would not allow us to fall foul of the admonishes that children are but a test for parents. He said children are helped to acquire highly rewarding professions and also expected to be provided whatever is needed to be good muslims. "This means success and happiness in this life and salvation and paradise in the hereafter" he said. He urged all muslim women to always correct their children when necessary, adding that, the requirements of Islam have priority over the desires of children. "It is the woman who bears the troubles of pregnancy for nine months and the pains of child birth" he added. Source: GNA
