UK carrier British Airways says it has so far had to cancel three scheduled flights from Accra to London due to the icy weather affecting most parts of Europe.
Heavy snow has left airport runways in London covered in several inches, halting most flights, especially at Heathrow, the busiest airport in Europe.
BA Country Manager Paul Dhami told Joy Business, though the situation is uncomfortable, the airline places passenger safety above all other considerations.
He said the weather was “exceptionally bad” and appealed to the flight’s passengers to exercise patience and bear with management.
Mr Dhami advised all passengers to monitor the news keenly and contact the carrier’s website, www.ba.com for updates to information on the situation.
