The Project Officer of the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG), Mr. Kojo Mpriam, has cautioned aspiring assembly members to be careful about the promises they make to the electorate during mounting of election platforms to campaign for votes.
He said assembly members would be asked to render account of their stewardship after every six months and asked them to give promises they can fulfil.
Mr. Mpriam said this at a public forum organized by the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG), a civil society organization, for nine aspiring assembly members at Daboase.
He said IDEG would mount electoral platforms in 15 districts in eight regions across the country to afford the electorate the opportunity to interact with the aspirants.
Mr Mpriam said IDEG had trained over 2,000 people across the country in advocacy, dialogue and lobbying skills to help deepen multi party democracy in ensuring peace and harmony.
All the nine aspiring assembly members from the Daboase East and West Electoral areas promised to work hard to better the lives of the electorate.
They pledged to focus on sanitation, education, health, agriculture and water issues in the area.
