The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sefwi-Wiawso, Mr Stephen Wilks Kofi Mensah, has advised unemployed university graduates in the country, to go into agriculture to improve their lot.
He said the assembly had targeted areas such as rice, honey and pottery production and that, it had secured support from the German Technical Corporation (GTZ), to organize workshops for interested graduates, who wanted to engage in agriculture next year, to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Mr Stephen Wilks Kofi Mensah said this in an interview with the GNA in Takoradi.
He said agriculture is a profitable venture that could change the fortunes of most graduates for improved living conditions and pledged the assemblies’ support for those, who would go into agriculture next year.
The DCE said the assembly would give start-up materials to graduates, who would show interest in agriculture, in the Sefwi-Wiawso district.
He said the district has large tract of fertile lands for agriculture and urged graduates in the district to organize themselves into groups, to enable them to access support from the assembly.
Mr Mensah said the assembly would organize a district trade fair next year, to showcase some of the products produced in the district.
