Heritage Africa, a reality show set under the theme: 'Projecting our culture through drum and dance' is set to hold its finale on February 12 at the Alliance Francaise in Accra.
The reality show is the brain child of Clecomax Multimedia and it is in collaboration with the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture, the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relation and the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana.
The show was launched in November 2009 with 500 participants going through auditioning process. Ten couples were last year selected to take part in a 10-week competitive TV series.
The brain behind the reality show, Clement Ablorh Kommey, speaking in an interview with Hitz Entertainment News said the show is currently on its semi-final stage after the eviction of four group with two more set to be evicted before the finale.
Four groups will be selected for the finale.
The winner, he said, will take home GH¢2,000 and products from sponsors while the second, third and forth will walk away with GH¢1, 500, GH¢1, 000 and GH¢500 respectively with products from sponsors including a travel package.
He further added that the winners of the reality show will become cultural and arts ambassadors for the country with the sole aim of projecting Ghanaian culture and arts locally and internationally.
“We are managing the winners for a whole year. They will be doing projects for the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture. They will become Cultural Ambassadors, they will be training people in institutions…it’s a whole course that we should learn.
“Now, we think entertainment in Ghana is just to entertain but entertainment goes beyond that. So just after the grand finale, we will make sure that the winners will be ambassadors not for only culture but in the arts. That they will be able to project our arts to the international [community],” he said.
