The Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly is on a collision course with the pastors and elders of the Gospel Light International Church over a piece of land on the Nungua Beach Road.The MCE, Daniel Amartey Mensah, has vowed to pull down any structure the church attempts to build on the disputed land. But the church leaders insist that they acquired the land from a chief in Nungua six years ago and have every right to develop it.Mr Daniel Amartey Mensah, has repudiated the church’s explanation, saying the land could not have been sold to the church because it had been set aside for use as a cemetery.“I mean, why do you go buying a cemetery?", he quizzed.The MCE said there was no clear evidence they indeed bought the land from the chiefs as claimed.“What they are doing is a complete affront to authority as if we are living in a lawless country,” he stated.Mr Mensah said he was waiting for the church to raise a structure to an appreciable level before the assembly will demolish it because “at this stage when you demolish it, they will not feel it.”He vowed that the assembly will use all legal means to stop any illegality in the district.Source: Joy News/Ghana
