The grandmother of two children who survived an accident on the Accra-Kumasi road is appealing for help to take care of them.
The eight-year-old twins survived the accident in which their mother and three other relatives perished.
Luv FM’s Kwabena Ampratwum visited the children at the Komfo-Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi and reports that Kakra and his sister Patricia were in such shock that they needed the constant presence of their ageing grandmother to stay calm.
The two survivors, Kwabena Ampratwum said, are too fragile to be told the sad news of their mother and other relatives died in the accident.
Kakra broke down in tears while talking to Kwabena.
Their grandmother, 64-year-old Mary Nyarko, said her daughter left Kumasi about two weeks ago Tuesday for Accra and called her to say the bus was leaving Kumasi.
But the next day Wednesday, she didn’t hear from her daughter and started to be worried. Her worries gave way to anxiety when officials of the Social Welfare called her to the hospital and later broke the news to her.
She is worried about how to raise money to educate Kakra and the sister and called for assistance from the general public.
