Eleven officers including a driver of the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly were on Thursday fined GH¢100 each for assault or in default serve four months imprisonment.
They all pleaded guilty on three counts of conspiracy to commit crime, assault and unlawfully causing damage to property.
The court presided over by Mr Kwesi Boakye Enimil also awarded a compensation of GH¢500 to the victim, Mr Kow Walas, a professional driver.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Ben Billy Amenuke told the court that on February 8, this year the officers from the District Administration were from Ajumako enroute to Agona Swedru.
The prosecutor added that the officers accused Mr Walas of careless driving and chased him to Ochiso where they took the law into their own hands and mercilessly beat him.
He said a medical form issued out to the victim by the Ochiso Police brought the act to the notice of the authorities and the accused were arraigned before court.Source: GNA
