The Environmental Protection Agency says it cannot be blamed for the construction of a mortuary at Pokuase Ridge Residence in the Ga West Municipality. The residents have accused the EPA of issuing a permit for construction without first consulting with them as required by the agency’s own regulations. But head of the EPA for Ga West Badu Yeboah says his outfit did no wrong issuing the permit. He said whatever project one wants to undertake can only be carried out when a development and construction permit is obtained from the relevant city authority stressing that EPA’s permit was not meant for the company to build. On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ga West, Nii Armah Tackie told Joy News developers of the site originally applied for a residential permit.
