Three Chinese accused of assault and disturbing the public peace were on Thursday admitted to GH¢5,000.00 bail each with surety by a Kumasi Circuit Court. Wang Jia Lei, 40, Song Yongzhi, 47, and Edward Shou, 42, pleaded not guilty to the offence. Song faces additional charge of causing harm. They would re-appear on Monday, March 21. Police Chief Inspector Isaac Mensah Appenteng told the court presided over by Mr Justice William Boampong that the accused were all resident in Kumasi. The complainant, Derrick Shou, operates a digital printing business, the same job the three, are also engaged in. He said owing to the intense business competition, relations between Wang and Derrick had been cold. The prosecution said on March 9, the complainant went to Wang's shop to look for one of his assistants but without provocation got assaulted. A formal report was made to the police who quickly moved in and on arrival they found Song and Edward also fighting and arrested them. Source: GNA
